Mirror block

Introduction

The Mirror Block acts like a mirror. It is really basic in function, it will act like a normal mirror and redirect colors accordingly.

The Mirror blocks can be colored and, when they are, they filter colors.

How do you place a Mirror block?

  • Open Lasers-Enigma main shortcut bar by typing the /lasers command.
  • Aim for the block on which you want to place the component. This can be on the floor, ceiling, or wall. Then right-click with the "place component" button in hand.
  • Click the Mirror block item in the menu.
  • Now that the component is placed, the mirror block edition shortcut bar will open and you will be able to edit the component.
  • Glass is not strictly a component. In fact, they are Minecraft's native blocks. This means that, although they can be placed using the following procedure, they can also be placed like any other Minecraft block.

Interactions

Laser interaction

A laser cannot pass through a mirror block. When a laser hits the mirror block at an angle, the laser will get reflected back at the same angle.

Diagonal edge behavior

When a laser travels diagonally and crosses the edge or corner between blocks that are all mirror blocks (concrete powder), the laser is reflected back (direction reversed). If the mirror blocks are colored, they filter the laser color before reflecting — multiple mirror colors are merged (additive) before the filter is applied.

If the diagonal edge contains a mix of mirror blocks and other solid blocks (e.g. stone), the laser is stopped instead of reflected. Mirror edge reflection only occurs when all intermediate blocks at the edge are mirrors.

See Lasers interaction — Diagonal edge and corner behavior for the general rules.
