make an area that is 1 block under the elevator floor (1 block under the floor aka break the floor then make the area from the block underneath)

  • build an elevator shaft at least 3 blocks high.
  • right-click on a corner of the elevator shaft with the "Place component" item.
  • select the "elevator" component type.
  • right-click on the opposite corner.
  • Enter the elevator shaft
  • jump in the middle to move the elevator up one block and repeat until you reach your desired floor.
  • Click on the 'create a new floor' item to create a floor at where the elevator currently is.
  • Repeat until you've created every floor you want.

if it says 'you must be standing in an area!' when you try to make an elevator, try removing and extending the area 1 block under the elevator floor.

2 information you should know about elevators:

As you saw, once you have created the elevator, you can't modify the blocks it contains. If you do a left click while having /lasers menu opened, you will delete it. And if you do a left click without /lasers menu opened, it will be cancelled because you have no right to modify an existing component (the elevator). But you can still use minecraft native / worldedit commands to modify blocks.

You can put some redstone blocks in the elevator lift structure. If you do so, the fact the redstone block moves will allow you to detect the fact the elevator accessed a floor to open doors.
